Alf Stwart
Played by Ray Meagher
He's from the town's oldest family. Like his father and grandfather before him, Alf was born and bred in Summer Bay!
Quite the local businessman, Alf's got his finger in a number of Summer Bay's prized pies such as Noah's Bar, The Blaxland (his boat) and was an owner of the Diner. He was also in charge of the Summer Bay Life Saving team and is still an active member of the voluntary rescue service.
Alf's the kind of guy you don't want to upset. If you get on the wrong side of him, you're in for a rough time. He has a bit of a temper, but deep down, Alf's a big softie and his bark is far worse than his bite. He'll always lend a hand when help is needed, just be ready for his grumbling! So long as you're not offended by the words FLAMIN' or HECK you'll be fine.
Alf was delighted when all his old friends and family organised a huge surprise party for his 60th birthday. He’s one of Summer Bay’s most loved residents.
When Alf heard that Marilyn Chambers was returning to Summer Bay, he was thrilled. He immediately insisted she move into the Summer Bay House.
Alf is suspected to have murdered the manipulative Penn Graham and is constantly being hassled by Detective Robertson.
Relationship status:
Currently single.
Past relationships:
A long time ago, Alf was married to Martha, whom his grand-daughter is named after. Alf was also married to Ailsa, but she died of a heart attack, leaving Alf a widower for the second time. He has had a few flings over the years and thought he had another chance with Bridget, but she turned out to be just after his money.
Family:
Alf has a grand-son, Ric, and a grand-daughter, Martha. He is the brother of Morag Bellingham and they are fiercely protective of each other, although they constantly bicker and disagree. Recently Alf and Morag have acquired a sister, Colleen. A time capsule was discovered after the old diner collapsed unveiling an old family secret Morag and Alf wish had never been revealed.
Friends:
Aside from any ‘flamin mongrels’ that might happen to be in the Bay at any point in time, Alf is friends with everybody.
Living arrangements:
Alf lives in ‘the Summer Bay house’ helping Miles to run the caravan park, along with Romeo and Nicole.
